Education Support Coordinator - Gisborne

CCS Disability Action has provided support for disabled people and their families and whanau for over 75 years. Our vision is that every disabled person will be included in the life of their family and community. The Education Coordinator role is an exciting new position that will be responsible for providing support and training to team members to help them achieve qualifications and develop in their roles. The position will be mainly based in Gisborne but with some travel required to other centres.

Applicants will need to demonstrate:
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Lived experience and/or work experience in the disability sector.
* Previous experience as a tutor, or educator.
* Previous experience developing training programmes
* Sound time management and organisational skills
* The ability to work well within a small team.
* Able to work independently when required.
* A relevant tertiary qualification or transferable experience.
* Values led professional practice.

Do you have experience working with Maori and Pasifika communities?

 

Are you passionate about child rights and committed to supporting children and their families?

 

Have you completed an Early Childhood Diploma recognised by NZQA such as Diploma ECE Pasifika and worked for two years in an early childhood setting?

 

If so, CCS Disability Action would like to encourage you to consider a position with us as an Early Intervention Teacher (EIT). CCS Disability Action is a national not for profit organisation working in partnership with families/whanau to achieve a better future for children with disabilities.

 

EI Teachers support children with high educational and developmental needs, and their families. The focus is on the child in the context of their family/whanau and their community.  We support children through to successful transition to school.

 

Two permanent full time positions (37.5 hours per week) are available based at our Papakura and Albany offices.

 

The Diploma in Teaching ECE is essential and the Diploma Early Intervention is preferred or a commitment to complete this training within a negotiated time frame.
