Leave a bequest

Bequests Make a Vital Difference

Leaving a gift in your will for CCS Disability Action gives you the chance to let your vision of a society that includes all people live on. It’s a wonderful way to support the vital work we do with disabled people, their families and whānau in perpetuity.

Our organisation was only able to fulfil its original mandate in support, education and vocational training thanks to the generosity of our first supporters. Today, it’s still the same story. As a Not-For-Profit organisation, we are totally indebted to the generosity of the many New Zelanders who choose to make donations, or leave us bequests – gifts that go directly to help our role in homes and communities all across New Zealand.

Leaving a Gift In Your Will

Writing your will is an important and personal undertaking. It is a good idea to discuss your wishes with trusted family and friends and seek the advice of a solicitor or trustee company.

If you already have a will, you can choose to add a codicil that provides a bequest to CCS Disability Action.

To make a bequest you can use the following words in your will:

I give and bequeath to CCS Disability Action ____________ branch (you can specify Auckland or Northland branch or Northern Region) for the general purposes of the Society, a _____% share of my Estate (or the sum of $ _____ ) and declare that the receipt of the authorised officer of the Society shall be good and sufficient discharge for my Trustee(s).

Your gift can be:

  • The residue of your estate after provisions have been made for your family and friends.
  • A set dollar amount or selected property.
  • A percentage of your estate.

What happens next?

If you choose to leave a bequest to CCS Disability Action we would love to know.

It would give us a chance to say thank you and make sure you are on our mailing list, if you would like to be. You will then receive our regular newsletters sharing the stories of how support like yours improves the quality of life for many Kiwis. We can also discuss the recognition you might like to receive for your support, or your anonymity, should you prefer it.
