We have over 1,000 items, including small and large toys, puzzles, audio, CDs and DVDs, books and games.
(Please note: we are only able to offer the toy library in Waikato)
Apart from a small collection of 'switch-adapted' items, the toys are just like the ones you'd find in a regular toy library or in the toy shops. But our team can talk to your early intervention team, and help select toys that will help your child develop a particular skill they are 'working on'.
Becoming a member of the toy library
Anyone who supports a child (or older person) with a disability, or developmental delay, can join the toy library. Membership costs just $20 per year, and then it is free to borrow items. However, families are required to pay the cost for an damaged or lost items.
If you would like to have a look round the toy library, contact us to arrange a time to visit (details below).
You can borrow 3 toys, plus a book or a puzzle at a time. If you live in Hamilton, you can be borrow items for 2 weeks. If you live outside of Hamilton, you can borrow items for up to a month.
Toys are clearly marked with a list of contents and the type of batteries needed (we don't supply those). Families are expected to return items on time, clean and complete.
The toy library is in the CCS Disability Action building on Claudelands Road, Hamilton, near the Cosmopolitan Club.
