The Child Support Amendment Bill is currently being reviewed by Parliament. You can read the bill here and find out more about it's progress here.
This bill amends the Child Support Act 1991 by simplifying penalty rules, introducing payment of financial support by compulsory deduction, imposing a time bar of four years, and inserting a definition of income.
CCS Disability Action has prepared a draft submission on the bill as we want disability-related support needs to be explicitly mentioned in the Child Support Act.
If you would like to feedback to us on this draft submission, we would love to hear from you. You can find it in the Resources section. Please contact Samuel.Murray@ccsDisabilityAction.org.nz before the 22nd June 2020 if you would like to make any suggestions.
