Hours: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

Job specific information

We are seeking a motivated National Pou Ārahi to support our mahi across the motu. You will play a key role in supporting Māori Disabled Leadership and support the service delivery aims of the organisation by embedding the Māori Disability Leadership Framework and Te Reo Strategy in the practice of the staff across the organisation.

About the role:

  • A key role in embedding the Māori Disability Leadership Framework and Te Reo Strategy.

  • Develop, facilitate, and coordinate training programs for internal and external groups.

  • Provide effective leadership and Project management to Manawatanga – Te Pou Tarāwaho o te Hautūtanga Māori, Māori Leadership Framework.

  • Identify funding and opportunities.

  • Develop and implement a solution focused annual work plan.

About you:

  • You have experience working with whānau, hapu, iwi and Māori organisations.

  • You are committed to bicultural development, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and understand the importance of the what the articles provides and knowledge, enact and implement into the organisational operation.

  • You are competent in Te Reo Māori, Tikanga and English.

  • You hold an awareness of political change on current Maori events that may affect the organisation.

  • You have an ability to articulate and combine theory, practise and cultural experience.

  • You hold strong organisational and time management skills.

  • An inclusive practice to embrace people into kaupapa Māori values and practices.

  • Experience in reporting accountability.

  • An ability to facilitate Māori networks/groups to deliver on mutually agreed outcomes.
