My canoe is Ngātokimatawhaorua, my Chief and his wife Kamariera and Peti, my mountain Te Ramaroa, my ocean Te Hokianga-nui-a-Kupe, my river Whirinaki, my Marae Moria, my subtribe Te Hikutu, my Tribe Ngapuhi-nui-tonu, my parents Shaun Kirton and Jessie Morunga.
I hail from a beautiful slice of heaven, Whirinaki in the Hokianga Northland.

Hello my name is Dairne Kirton, and I am the National Board President of CCS Disability Action.
I am a Māori woman with lived experience of impairment, I have three children and run my own business, Life’s Abilities Coaching where I work as a Life Coach, Facilitator/Trainer and Motivational Speaker. Subsequently I have coached/mentored people from different cultures and communities so that people are resourced to live a life of their choosing they love.

Although I am proud to be Māori, I believe in a rich and diverse community encapsulated in the CCS Disability Action vision ‘Te Aronui’.

My involvement with CCS Disability Action began in 2008. I became a governance member of the CCS Disability Action - Auckland Local Advisory Committee in July 2010 and onto Northern Regionally Elected Representative to the National Board November 2011. Then in 2014 a dual role Northern Regionally Elected Representative and National Board - Vice President until October 2017. I held Acting National Board President role from October 2017 until October 2018 when I became Nationally Elected Board President and am currently still fulfilling the role.

I am honoured and blessed to contribute my energy, time and skills working collaboratively for an Inclusive Aotearoa for all.
