Kia ora,

After a number of different occupations, teaching became my primary job, and within that vocation I spent most of my time in special education. I moved to the Wairarapa with my wife, Sandee, and it is here that we raised our children. It was initially through my work that I became involved in CCS Disability Action. I was looking to coordinate and provide a wraparound support service for children and their whānau that I was working with. I was attracted by the enthusiasm and energy I found at CCS Wairarapa (Later CCSDA) and soon was invited to have an active role as part of their LEC. This was all more than 25 years ago. I retired when I felt a new approach was required, and was made a Life member of Wairarapa branch, an honour I felt privileged to receive. Not long after, I resigned from my education work and together Sandee and I spent a number of years travelling between NZ and the UK, working in the UK and exploring the world between times. Covid chased us back to NZ. Back in Masterton, CCSDA Wairarapa contacted me and I was soon back on local governance.

Ngā mihi,
Len
